However, if you want to store the motorcycle for 1 month, you don’t have to store the motorcycle on a stand. 

Should You Go with an External Stand?

Indeed you should store the motorbike on the stand, but which motorbike stand should you choose? Should you go with an external stand? 

External stands don’t let both motorbike tires touch the ground, so your motorbike tires won’t suffer from any significant issues. While internal stands or stands with the motorbike let motorbike tires touch the ground, which can be bad for your motorbike tires’ health. 

And that’s why experts always recommend going with reliable external stands only.

When Should You Choose an Internal Stand? 

So far, you understand that you should go with the external stand to store your motorbike. Now the question arises, when should you choose an internal stand?

You don’t need to spend money on an external stand when storing the motorbike for a shorter period, for example, 1 month. It’s because most motorbike tires are strong enough to hold the motorbike for 1 month without showing any issues. 

However, suppose you have a doubt related to the motorbike tire’s quality, then it’s advisable to go with the external stand.

What if You Don’t Have an External Stand? 

Indeed it would be better if you choose an internal stand to store your motorbike for a temporary period. Now the question arises, what if you don’t have an external stand? 

Suppose you don’t have an external stand to elevate your motorbike tires. In that case, you’ll have to make a solution to avoid direct contact between the surface and the tire. For example, you can remove both tires while storing the motorbike for an extended period, and lay your motorbike safely on the excellent quality foam. 

Can You Protect Your Motorbike Tires Without Stand? 

So far, you should find a way to elevate your motorbike tires. Now the question arises, can you protect your motorbike tires without a stand? 

You can protect your motorbike tires when storing the motorbike, even if you don’t have an external motorbike stand, by installing a crane mechanism in which your motorbike will be hung. 

But it is not a budget-friendly option for everyone, so you can remove both your motorbike tires before storing the motorbike, and before removing motorbike tires, make sure that both tires should have recommended PSI values. 

Can You Store Your Motorcycle on the Side Stand? 

Indeed you can protect your motorcycle tires even without tires by removing both tires before storing the motorcycle. Now the question arises, can you store your motorcycle in the side stand?

For instance, if you’re storing the motorbike for a shorter period, for example, for 1 month, then you can store the motorbike with the side stand. If you’re storing the motorbike for more than 3 months, you shouldn’t store the motorcycle on the side stand. 

Storing the motorbike longer would hamper the side stand and tire’s health. 

Why Don’t Some Motorbikes Have Side Stands? 

So far, you understand that a motorbike stand is a better idea to park your motorbike for a few months unless you don’t have cheap quality motorbike tires. Now the question arises, why do some motorcycles not have side stands? 

Some premium or luxurious motorbikes don’t have a side stand because they’re generally useless for that motorbike. After all, these motorbikes come with massive engines, and this engine adds more weight to the side stand, which could break them. 

Side stands also add more weight to the motorbike, which isn’t suitable for the motorbike made solely for racing. Although in the market, there are carbon fiber-made side stands that are more durable and lightweight. 

Another reason the premium motorbike doesn’t have a side stand is that this stand interfaces with the aerodynamic design of the motorbike and resists the motorbike from catching a high speed. 

While, according to some riders, manufacturers don’t add a side stand to the premium design motorbike because of the look. A motorbike with a side stand doesn’t look better than a motorbike parked in the upright position with the help of a side stand.

Motorbike stand durability is one of the first things you should consider while choosing a stand. Stand durability helps ensure that your motorbike always parks safely and doesn’t fall at any time. 

Motorbike durability also ensures that your stand will stay for a longer time without any rusting. 

Material: 

Material from the motorbike side stand is also made to play a crucial role when choosing the motorbike stand. It’s because heavy-duty materials such as anti-rust iron can lift heavy motorbike weights more easily than cheap quality stands. 

When choosing the motorbike stand, tell your motorbike weight to the dealer so they can give you the most durable stand. 

Angle: 

Motorbike stand angle is a crucial factor you should consider while choosing the motorbike; the angle will decide how far your motorbike will be from the land surface. 

The lesser the angle, the more danger to your motorbike as it increases the chance of falling on the ground.
