What Are Some Best Women’s Motorcycle Gears?

Undeniable motorcycle gear is a crucial thing that you shouldn’t ignore when riding a motorbike. Now the question arises, what are some of the best women’s motorcycle gears?

Women riding motorbikes should wear good-quality motorbike helmets to protect their heads from injuries. Women can also wear motorbike jackets and boots to protect their feet and upper body from significant injuries. And if you’re a professional rider, you should also go with a motorbike back protector and airbags.

Let’s look at what it means and what you can do about it.

While writing this post, I leave no stone unturned, so you can buy quality and proper motorbike gears to protect yourself during riding

What Are Some Best Women’s Motorcycle Gears?

In today’s world where accidents are too common to require you to buy motorbike gear to protect yourself from significant injuries.

Fortunately, we don’t have to buy and wear motorbike gear made for men, and that’s why manufacturers made some motorbike gear by keeping women’s wants and fitting in mind.

Before going further in the post, I want you to clear all your doubts regarding motorbike gear through some statistics which I collected recently.

Do Motorcycle Gears Save Lives:

According to data published on Statista in 2020, there were more than 79,000 accidents in 2018 in the USA. Out of these, around 5000 were fatal accidents that injured many riders.

You can read the study here on Statista for free.

From the above study, it’s clear that there’s nothing called accident-free riding, you could even face some accidents in the future while riding.

Also, motorcycle gears keep you warm while riding in winter and protect you from any life-threatening injuries, but it doesn’t mean you should wear motorcycle gear in the winter only.

In Virginia, it’s mandatory to wear motorbike gear, including a helmet while riding.

Motorcycle safety foundation (MSF) points out that motorcycle gears not only protect you from life-threatening injuries. But it also protects you from dust, debris, and insects that might disturb your balance while riding and gives you a comfortable riding experience.

They also point out that you must wear proper gear covering you from head to toe for complete safety.

Now let’s dig deeper and find some safety gears you should include in your motorbike gears list.

Gears to Include in Your List:

Now comes to the important part for which you’re here. Here’re some best motorbike gears you should include in your gear list now.

Motorbike Helmets:

A motorbike helmet is probably the first gear you should include in your gear list.

Why? It’s because motorbike helmets protect you from head injuries which can be life-threatening for you, helmets protect you by creating a 3D layer around your head and absorbing all kinetic energy.

Let’s see some statistics related to motorbike helmets.

In 2016, NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) published a report which said that helmets saved more than 1800 people’s lives.

According to the same report, NHTSA claims that around 800 people could save their lives if they wore a helmet, but sadly they didn’t.

You can read the whole report here by clicking here

According to the same report, NHTSA claims that motorbike helmets are 37% effective for motorbike riders and 41% effective for passengers.

In 2017, NHTSA also claimed that if everyone wears a good motorbike helmet while riding, the USA can save more than $1 billion alone.

Another non-government and non-profitable organization combined more than 60 studies and concluded that motorbike helmets could reduce deaths caused by severe motorbike accidents by around 43%.

Helmets can also reduce the risk of severe head injuries by around 69%.

You can read this report by clicking here.  The above studies don’t include helmets and head injuries while concluding.

Thus more studies are still needed to reach any hard conclusion. Meanwhile, I don’t think you can risk your life by not wearing a motorbike helmet.

Motorbike Boots:

You will save your head by wearing a motorbike helmet, but what about your feet? Aren’t they important to you?

Fortunately, the manufacturer made motorbike boots to protect feet from significant injuries.

In the market, you can find various types of motorbike boots and I highly recommend buying leather-made boots because of their longevity and excellent protection.

You can also go with synthetic leather material boots if you don’t want to buy leather-made boots.

If you’re a short rider, motorbike boots aren’t less than blessings for you, after all, they will help you reach the ground when parking a motorbike.

Motorbike Back Protectors:

You may hardly know motorbike back protector is if you’re an average city rider.

But believe me, it’s one of the most essential gear that a professional rider includes.

The back protector covers your whole back and kidney area and acts as a barrier by absorbing all energy at the time of impact, thus protecting your back and kidney. Additionally, the back protector makes your posture straight and reduces back pain, making it worth it.

Before reaching any hard conclusion, let’s look at some stats for back protectors.

In 2016, biomedical researchers concluded by combining 180 studies that state that ordinary motorbike jackets and non-foam-filled jackets are the primary reason behind back injuries.

In the same study, researchers found that a hard shell back protector is one of the practical tools to protect the back from injuries.

However, these studies still lack proper evidence, and more proper studies are still needed to reach any solid conclusion.

Until then, I think no one will wait for further studies instead of wearing a solid back protector.

Motorbike Jeans:

Motorbike jeans are the most common motorbike gear not only among riders but among non-riders as well.

Although motorbike jeans don’t add much protection, it is always recommended to wear motorbike jeans while riding for comfortability.

Fortunately enough nowadays, some manufacturers are adding pads to motorbike jeans to provide better protection.
