When choosing motorbike wear, you should always choose gears that fit you perfectly.

Do Motorcycle Wear Should be Tight?

Indeed your motorbike wear should include jackets and gloves; now the question arises, should motorcycle wear be tight?

Your motorcycle wear shouldn’t be tight because it will suffocate you and make you uncomfortable even in the worst situation; it will restrict blood flow which could be severe for you.

The tight motorcycle jacket will also decrease the efficiency of jacket safety which isn’t good if you want 100% protection. However, some motorbike gears, like leather motorbike jackets, feel tight and, after some weeks of regular wearing, it becomes fit easily.

Should You Choose Loose Motorbike Gear?

Indeed you shouldn’t wear tight motorbike gear for your safety, so the question arises, should you choose loose motorbike gear?

Just like tight motorbike gears, loose motorbike gears are also least effective in protecting you from various injuries. For example, loose motorbike gears don’t let their paddings touch your body, thus decreasing the efficiency of motorbike gear.

Also, loose motorbike gear might disturb you while riding the motorbike, which can be dangerous, especially when riding at high speed, and that’s why you shouldn’t choose loose motorbike gear.

The best you can do is to buy well-fitted motorbike gear or choose a size larger motorbike jacket for better protection.

The motorbike jacket is a crucial gear you should have when riding the motorbike.

Your motorbike jacket shouldn’t be tight or too loose as it decreases the efficiency of a motorbike jacket to keep you safe. The best you can do is to buy a motorbike jacket in which all paddings touch your body and protect your body from injuries.

A motorbike jacket protects you from injuries and cold winds during winter, so choosing a motorbike jacket fiber is crucial. For instance, you should wear a leather motorbike jacket if you want better protection against cold winds.

Some people still think that they can’t wear an opposite-gender motorbike jacket, if you’re one of them you need to read my previous post where I discussed the same, CLICK HERE to read.

Motorbike Gloves:

So far, you understand how motorbike jackets can protect you from various injuries and cold winds. Just like motorbike jackets, you also need gloves that can protect your fingers from cold and injuries.

Motorbike gloves are also crucial motorbike gear if you want to protect your fingers from becoming frozen and injured in accidents. When choosing motorbike gloves, you need to pay special attention to the fibers it’s made from.

The leather motorbike gloves are enough to protect your hands from various injuries during accidents and cold winds.

Motorbike Back Protector:

With the motorbike gloves and jacket, you can protect your hands and front core from various injuries, but what about your spine and back? And here the motorbike back protector comes into the role for protecting your back from injuries.

A motorbike back protector is made from hard and rigid plastic, which covers your back three-dimensionally, thus absorbing all kinetic energy that can injure you during the accident.

Although the motorbike back protector is optimal, and you can wear it only if you’re a professional rider, you can still go with the back protector to protect your back, even if you’re a beginner rider.

Motorbike Helmet:

Some riders call the motorbike helmet life-saving motorbike gear, which protects you from various severe head injuries which could kill you.

With a fitting motorbike helmet, you can protect your head and cheekbone from various injuries. Still, to protect yourself, you should buy a motorbike helmet that fits you perfectly.

But let’s not reach a conclusion yet; I’ve some studies to show which can clear any doubt you might have.

National Highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) published a report concluding that helmets saved more than 1800 riders’ lives in 2016.

In the same report, NHTSA claimed that 809 people could save their lives if they wore a helmet, but unfortunately, they didn’t wear it while riding.

You can see the report here on page number 8.

Motorcycle helmets proved 37% effective for motorbike riders and 41% for motorbike passengers.

Think this way, every 37 riders and 41 motorbike passengers could have saved their lives if they had worn helmets.

NHTSA also published a report in 2017 concluding the US alone can save more than $1 billion if all riders wear motorcycle helmets.

And our government could use this $1 billion for better use.

You can see the report here.

Another non-profitable organization combined more than 60 studies. The final result in 2008 concluded that helmets could reduce death caused by severe accidents by 42%.

And can reduce the risk of severe injuries by 69%.

You can read the study in detail on Pubmed NIH.

However, I didn’t find the effect of helmets on neck and cheek injuries in the above studies.

These studies also have insufficient data on helmet types’ effect on head injuries. More studies are still needed on the impact of helmet types on head injuries.
