Things to Consider While Choosing a Motorcycle?

I know you’re eagerly looking for the best motorbike you may choose if you’re a short rider.

But here’re some points which you need to keep in mind while choosing the motorcycle.

Motorcycle Height:

Motorcycle height or some people call it seat height, is one of the most important criteria which you need to keep in mind if you’re a short rider.

Generally, the motorcycle comes with a 30-32 inches seat height which could be tall for you. And that’s why you need to look at the motorbike seat height while selecting the motorbike.

The thumb rule of looking at the seat height is to sit on the motorbike while buying and see if your feet can touch the ground.

Motorcycle High CC Engine:

No, high CC engines aren’t bad.

But you need to be extra careful if you’re a beginner. But why am I saying this? After all, high CC engines are good.

A high CC engine comes with enormous power; for example, a 600 CC engine can reach a speed of 100 Miles per hour within a few seconds.

It means you’ll have only a few seconds to reach the extremely dangerous speed.

And even you’ll only have a fraction of a second to handle the motorbike if something goes wrong.

That’s why experts recommend high CC motorcycles if you’re a beginner rider. Beginner riders don’t have much experience and knowledge to handle any situation.

Wear Motorbike Gears:

I know many of you know this part, but I need newbie riders to especially focus on this part.

Riding a motorbike designed for taller people isn’t an easy task, and it might injure you. I recommend you all wear a good quality motorcycle helmet, boots, and rider pants so there won’t be any severe injury risk.

Tailor Boots:

Wait!! What? Do you’ve to tailor motorcycle boots? But why? Yes, you’ll have to tailor motorcycle boots by adding thick soles to them. The thick sole will help you touch your feet, balls, and toes.

You can take your motorbike to a professional cobbler so that they can tailor your motorbike boots by adding thick soles. Or, you may buy ready-made thick-sole motorcycle boots.

Learn Leaning Left:

Nowadays, missing to learn lean left is like an elephant roaming free in the room, which I highly don’t recommend.

It’s because you need tough ground below your feet while you stop your motorbike, and for stopping, you need to press the rear brake pedal.

Also, learn to adjust luggage weight uniformly so that it doesn’t disturb the center of gravity while you lean left.

Decide Where You Need to Stop:

We all just need to admit the importance of solid ground under our feet to stop motorbikes. But sometimes, riders get stuck in a position where there’s no solid ground below their feet.

My girlfriend had seriously encountered this situation where she stuck a motorbike in the hilly areas, and there was no solid ground below her feet. And you may better guess what happened next.

Have a Walk:

Undoubtedly, walking is good for health, even doctors recommend the same. If you’re searching for a parking spot and the ground under you is unstable, then it’s better to have a walk on your motorbike.

You can do this by leaning your motorbike opposite you while walking with your motorbike. Make sure your motorbike is neutral, and you press the clutch and have your hand on the front tire brake.

Practice! Practice! Practice!:

The last and most important tip that I can give you is to practice. Always practice on a small motorbike until you’ve learned the proper balancing and popper riding techniques.

Both variants have a shallow seat of just 25.7 inches, making the motorbike best for 4 ’11 riders. Harley street has a narrower seat and gas tank making the motorbike suitable for riders who love long riding.

How can we forget the stability these motorbikes come with when it’s about Harley? Both variants come with appropriate ground clearance making the motorbike best for beginner and mid-level riders as maximum stability decreases the risk of indulging in a motorbike accident while taking a sharp turn.
